SYLLABI
We invite you to search the syllabi database. Use this resource when you want to know how others have approached the teaching of a particular course. The database will include courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (university and seminary), detailed syllabi created under the UbD format and simple syllabi with only course objectives. Some of the courses will include teachers' notes and/or the entire UbD course design. We plan to develop this database so that those building a new course will have a broad knowledge of how other institutions teach the material.
TEACHING TIPS
Tips for Teachers are short essays that provide practical help to college and seminary educators. They may deal with general educational topics such as teaching methods, class dynamics, assessment or resources. Or they may deal with teaching a specific idea, truth, or lesson. All tips are presently found on the Teaching Tips Resource Page. Later, when the number of articles has grown, a searchable database will be provided. Look for new Tips on the Home Page. New articles will be featured there on a regular basis.
ARTICLES FOR EDUCATORS
On the Articles page you will find an assortment of documents that relate to the field of teaching. Basically, Teaching Tips are very short articles and are found on their own page. All the longer articles are placed on this page. As with the Tips, once the number of articles warrant it, a searchable database will be made available.
UNDERSTANDING BY DESIGN (UbD)
The UbD page will focus on the educational method popularized by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe in their book Understanding by Design. We will link you to articles that will help you design courses using this model.
